America's Secret Police

From New Whistleblowers Back Sibel:

And here is another thing, the agents themselves, we’re talking about the street level agents, case agents, these are patriotic great guys. So it was not these agents going and violating these rules, but it was taking place within the FBI’s administrative headquarters and the higher-ups within the Justice Department.

And it is to these "patriotic great guys" that this post is dedicated. The FBI has long been a source of pride to America. We in America know that we have honest, dedicated, hard-working, loyal FBI agents working long hours and risking their lives to protect us against organized crime, terrorists, narcotics traffickers, and a variety of other threats. We honor you, we appreciate your efforts, and we look forward to the day when you regain control of an organization that America loves and respects.

The Vanity Fair article referenced below can be found here.

From Two FBI Whistleblowers Confirm Illegal Wiretapping of Government Officials and Misuse of FISA:

In its September 2005 issue, Vanity Fair ran a comprehensive piece on Edmonds’ case by reporter David Rose, in which several former and current congressional and Justice Department officials identified former House Speaker Dennis Hastert as being involved in illegal activities with the Turkish organizations and personnel targeted in FBI investigations. In addition, Rose reported: “…much of what Edmonds reportedly heard seemed to concern not state espionage but criminal activity. There was talk, she told investigators, of laundering the profits of large-scale drug deals and of selling classified military technologies to the highest bidder.” In January 2005, DOJ-OIG released an unclassified summary of its investigation into Edmonds' termination. The report concluded that Edmonds was fired for reporting serious security breaches and misconduct in the agency's translation program, and that many of her allegations were supported by convincing evidence.

In an interview with NSWBC investigators the former FBI Specialist, who wished to remain anonymous, stated: “…you are looking at covering up massive public corruption and espionage cases; to top that off you have major violations of FISA [FISA -- Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, see below. Y.D.] by the FBI Washington Field Office and HQ targeting these cases. Everyone involved has motive to cover up these reports and prevent investigation and public disclosure. No wonder they invoked the state secrets privilege in Edmonds’ case.”

From New Whistleblowers Back Sibel:

Everybody was happy in the end because on one hand you have corrupt congressional representatives – several of them, and they know who they are and they know about this case. Then, you have people in the State Department – you have at least one individual within the State Department – you have two or three individuals within the Pentagon and you also have certain well-known lobbyists. So this was a case where the Justice Department didn’t want their own illegal actions, in terms of conducting these wiretap operations, to be known – so they had their own reason of quashing this thing and basically wanting to cover it up via the State Secrets Privilege.

You had the State Department wanting to have it covered up, you had the Pentagon, and then also you had the Congress not having the reason, the motivation – which should be representing the American people and fulfilling their obligations to the American people – not wanting to touch the case because it’s a controversial case.

Another troubling aspect of this new case is the fact that we don’t know what they did with this information that they obtained illegally. Obviously they did not transfer it to the criminal division to be investigated – so what did they do with this information? Based on what we are getting from our sources, and these are people who have recently left the Bureau, it would not be illogical to actually consider the fact that the Bureau and the Justice Department may be using this information to actually blackmail people within Congress.

FBI agents are getting Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants, which are intended to conduct surveillance on foreign intelligence operations, and thus are a little easier to obtain than criminal warrants. They are then taking these warrants, and surveilling and turning up criminal activity. The criminal activity is then not prosecuted, but rather is generally continuing to be monitored under FISA warrants.

Why?

Are well-placed traitors and corrupt officials merely preventing honest elements within the FBI from acting upon the information they are collecting?

Or was the intent with these FISA warrants illegal right from the start? In other words, are these relatively easy-to-get warrants being used to collect information on the wrongdoings of US officials, information which is then being used to blackmail them?

Perhaps a little of both?

It was this kind of an operation that discovered, prior to 9/11, information connected to Al Qaeda's plan to attack US cities with airplanes -- and nothing was done.

Why?

Every bit as much as the airliners on that day, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been hijacked. It has become corrupted. It is now being used to prey upon Americans, and the result is that thousands of innocent Americans died on 9/11, when the organization that is supposed to protect them was too busy with its own illegal activities to keep them alive.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has become America's Secret Police.
